As the name suggests, Chalet Super Morzine is about as close to the Super Morzine lift as it gets. It’s pretty much 60 seconds from door to door, meaning access to Avoriaz and the whole of the Portes du Soleil area is virtually on your doorstep. And that’s not all. The local supermarket, a boulangerie, gourmet grocery and butcher are all less than four minutes away — and, for the nights you can’t be bothered to cook, some of the town’s best bars and restaurants are within stumbling distance.

But there’s far more to this brand new chalet than where it is on the map. Beautifully constructed to fit in with the alpine aesthetic, it combines the most modern fixtures and fittings with the sort of cosy mountain chic that pretty much begs you to stretch out on one of the sofas in front of the wood-fired stove and do nothing but admire the mountain views, with a glass of red in your hand. If you’re feeling marginally more active, you could stroll out onto one of the balconies, hop into the hot tub on the terrace, or let the warmth of the sauna ease away any aches and pains

And, if you want more entertainment, switch on one of the HD TVs which come with Netflix, for the ultimate chill-out film night. With two separate lounges, as well as an Xbox One, there are enough screens to ensure there won’t be any fighting over who wants to watch what.

The beauty of this chalet being comprised of two independent apartments is that you have not one, but two fully-equipped kitchens at your disposal. You might decide to use the one on the ground floor as the kids kitchen so you can dish up supper for the small ones before giving them some pre-bed games time. Or maybe you’d prefer to have it as your drinks kitchen, or just as an extra oven.

Either way, the main first floor kitchen is plenty large enough for cooking up a storm for 18, with a large range (complete with 5-ring gas hob), as well as a separate oven and microwave. A dishwasher (well, two if you count the one in the other kitchen as well) means nobody is going to get landed washing up 18 plates, so linger over another coffee after dinner (thanks to the Nespresso machine) and relive the triumphs of the day, before making plans for tomorrow.

Eight en-suite rooms, including one triple, one suite comprising a double room, a single room and a bathroom, and six rooms (two with balconies) that can be configured as twins or kings make the chalet supremely versatile, whether you’re multiple families or a group of couples and singles — and if you want to put all the kids (or all the party animals) on one floor and shut the door, we’re certainly not going to judge you!

Decent amounts of storage in all rooms mean ample space for stashing your stuff — although there are two washing machines and two tumble dryers if you’d rather pack light, and a ski locker and boot dryer so soggy kit doesn’t have to drip all over the chalet.
